Pisa is an Italian city in the Tuscany region, known for its famous Leaning Tower. The tower is part of the architectural ensemble of the Pisa Cathedral. This architectural monument is located in Piazza dei Miracoli, surrounded by other historical sites.
The tower forms a single architectural complex with the Cathedral of Pisa and the Baptistery. All objects were built in the 12th-13th centuries in the so-called Pisa Romanesque style. The facade and interiors look spectacular due to the use of black and white marble.
In the northern part of the square is a 13th century necropolis, the cemetery of Capmo Santo. It is an unusual cemetery, the burials here are located under the vaults of a beautiful arched gallery in a stone wall.
