Backpacking in Oslo

A plane ticket awakens a lot of hope ... A blue and white plane with a yellow stripe on its side landed calmly at Gardermoen airport in the capital of Norway .

We, five Ukrainian tourists with weighty “backpacks”, went down the ladder to the land of the Vikings and trolls. It immediately became clear that they had taken their hats, scarves and warm socks with them for a reason. In Lviv at the end of October begonias bloom in flower beds, and here there is snow. Just one hour on a comfortable train and here it is - Oslo.

The city resembles the Norwegians themselves. Sturdy, reliable and comfortable. You can easily verify this by going to conquer the streets of the Scandinavian capital on foot. This is the only way to feel the atmosphere of the city. So we did.

Oslo has three official languages: Old Norwegian , new Norwegian and Sami. But the Norwegians communicate well with tourists in English. Locals consider their city to be very temperamental. What, we thought it was funny. They probably have never been to Kiev!

Traffic lights in Oslo have three sections - two of them are red and one is green. This is how the concern for color blind and visually impaired people is manifested. The sidewalks in the city are always dry and clean, even in winter. Hot water pipes run under them. We remembered our "ice paths" from November to March.

Clean electric cars are running along the roads. Good ecology is the key to the health of the nation. And the Norwegians look healthy. Bicycles for rent are very popular in the city.

There are no beggars or stray animals on the streets ... They are very fond of them here. In stores with bright knitted sweaters, mittens and hats, the same is sold for pets. Unusual sculptures are scattered throughout the city.

A huge area is occupied by a park of creations of the great master of emotions Gustav Vigeland. There is a world of joy and resentment, youth and old age, hatred and forgiveness. The main street of Karl Johan with beautiful neat buildings abuts against the royal palace.

The palace has impressive sentries, including girls dressed in military uniforms. They smile and gladly answer the questions of walking people. They are photographed with tourists. The fact that this surprised us means not to say anything. Everything is simple, modest and without pathos. The Palace itself is also modest, without pretentiousness.

Inspired, of course we took a bunch of photos ... And how can you forget a day spent in a country where everything is “calm and monotonous”, that is, it is always GOOD.
