Warsaw Barbican. Review

The Warsaw Barbican is a kind of mini-fortress, this round building with thick red brick walls cannot be confused with anything. It is located on the border between the Old and New Towns. You can order excursions in Warsaw here. All the sights of Warsaw.

The outpost was built as a defense structure in the 16th century, but it was never really used for its intended purpose: the improvement of artillery quickly leveled its importance. During the Second World War, it was destroyed, restored according to old drawings already in the post-war period, now it is a popular place for tourists.

Local Warsaw artists offer their own paintings, quite original and interesting. In addition to paintings, we also noticed interesting woodwork by local craftsmen.

Chariots pass by every now and then; if you wish, you can easily rent them to ride around the Old Town.

From the walls of the Warsaw Barbican, an overview of the most beautiful panorama of the streets extending down to the banks of the Vistula River opens.
The entrance here is absolutely free, and at any time. This is a very beautiful place, it is definitely worth going here. It is interesting to admire the building in the evening illumination.

There is a museum inside the Barbican, the entrance is paid, it works according to the schedule. Unfortunately we didn't have enough time to visit it. Tourists who have been here say they were satisfied.

Nearby there is a milky bar "Pod Barbakanem", where we tasted Polish cuisine, but this as a last resort, I do not advise - it is very reminiscent of an old Soviet canteen.

We wandered a little along the walls of the fortress and continued our detour through the Old Town ...
