City of Buk, Hungary

The small town of Buk is located 220 kilometers from Budapest, the distance to it from Vienna is 122 kilometers. Mention of the city appeared in 1271. These picturesque places were mastered by nobles and serfs. 

Three railways were built in Bük in 1860, and soon three sugar factories began to function (in modern Hungary only one sugar factory is currently operating) Bük grew larger over time, several neighboring villages also became part of the city, respectively, and its population more and more from year to year.

At the moment, about 4,000 inhabitants live in the city. This small town became famous for its medicinal baths.

It is thanks to the healing properties of water here that he is known to the whole world. Holidays in Bük are somehow connected with health. The Bukfurdo resort in Hungary allows you to undergo a complete medical examination, and the thermal water, which has a temperature of 55 degrees Celsius, has healing qualities. The depth of the source is 1282 meters, and the composition of the water is rich in iodine, fluorine, and a fairly high content of carbon dioxide.

The first bathing pool was opened here in 1962, after the discovery of thermal water in 1957. The properties of water allow achieving good results in the treatment of diseases of the musculoskeletal system. Drinking treatment is also practiced here, indigestion, ulcers, gastritis, prevention of osteoporosis.
