Crowded Beijing

Since Beijing is the capital of China, approximately 15 million people live in it, with half of them visiting this city every day. Beijing belongs to the cultural city, so when traveling around it, get a map so that you can orient yourself. The streets are located quite conveniently, they have two directions, north-south, west-east.

Due to this arrangement, Beijing resembles a square figure, where the central street is called Chang'anze (length 38 km, width 100m). Beijing is divided into the old (Tatar and Chinese city) and the new city. The Tatar city contains palaces and parks, and the Chinese institutions serve the inhabitants of the Tatar city.

The entire remaining territory, where new buildings, residential complexes, and new roads are already rising, belongs to the new Beijing. Beijing is very scattered throughout the industry, with no defined business or shopping districts. Leaving the house, residents on the spot can solve almost all their affairs. The way to work often takes the subway, which is the second most expensive after a taxi. Students try to travel by buses and trolleybuses. Trolleybuses are inexpensive, and there are a lot of them; in China, their non-toxicity is valued. Buses pollute the air, so there are few of them. Buses carry different categories of people, and the price depends on the route, there is no single price like in Russia. You can travel along the narrow streets by rickshaw, where you can see the malls, try national food and drink local coffee.

There are three main markets in Beijing: Yabao Lu, Silk Market and Pearl Market. In the Pearl Market you can see famous stars and famous people, they sell stones, jewelry and pearls. The silk market belongs to the clothing market, but not everyone understands the Russian language there. But on Yabao Lu, tourists can easily communicate with sellers, there are both wholesale and piece sales. People in China love to eat, so many dishes here are purely exotic, not for our stomachs. The most common dish is duck, as it is impossible to cook it in Beijing anywhere else.

If you want to see most of the sights, you need to stay in this capital for at least a month. The main attractions include: Tananmen Square, the summer palace, Yonghegun Monastery, the Temple of Heaven, the Great Wall of China and the Forbidden City. Tan'anmen Square can hold up to a million people, and sights such as museums and the parliament diverge from it.

Yonghegun Monastery contains a statue of the Buddha, which is listed in the Guinness Book of Records. The Temple of Heaven is a house of prayer for the harvest season, it is unforgettably beautiful and the building was built without nails and cement mortars. The Great Wall of China is very famous, so every tourist who comes to China goes there. The Forbidden City is made up of numerous wooden buildings, but smoking is prohibited there.
