Calabria, Italy

Speaking about Calabria, from the point of view of its tourist attractiveness, first of all, its western coast should be considered. It is here that the relevant infrastructure, the most convenient beaches, and the most beautiful forest areas are concentrated. Driving along the winding coastal roads, the traveler sees around him small towns, an endless number of farm houses surrounded by olive groves, orange and pomegranate trees.

Violating the typical rural idyll, here and there, among the green hedges, signs of hotels, campsites and other tourist joys suddenly appear. Yes, Calabria lives its own life, this is not a typical tourist area where everything works for vacationers. This is what makes it possible to see the real Italy here.

Cities here do not shine with wealth and luxury, you can’t see signs of expensive restaurants in the narrow streets, and shopping is very limited in range. But all this is fully paid off by the comfort of small cafes, the goodwill and sincerity of the locals.

Resting in other places, you often feel falseness and the appearance of attention, but here this is not the case. Traveling through ancient towns or spending time in hotels, one never ceases to be surprised by the fun and vitality coming from passers-by, employees of shops and other institutions, drivers and animators. The latter must be mentioned separately.

Those who have ever been in one of the hotels in Calabria will forever remember the atmosphere created by these dance masters, artists and just very good people who are in love with their work. The sea washing these shores is amazing. Clean clear water, crystal shimmering under bright sunlight, cannot leave indifferent even the most fastidious and experienced tourist, and on convenient and specially equipped beaches you can sit with special comfort.

There are conditions for various beach holidays. Quiet bays covered with rocky ledges, small bays and long sandy coastal strips, deep lagoons and beaches with a gentle entrance to the sea are great for adults and children, diving enthusiasts and connoisseurs of a good tan.

Calabria can be calm and even somewhat slow, bright and cheerful, quiet and exploding with music and songs, but it will never be boring. Having visited this region once, it is difficult to refuse to return here again, at the first opportunity.
