Frankfurt is hard to describe in a nutshell: this is the financial capital Germany , and a major cultural center, and a city with a rich history and interesting architecture. Any sightseeing tour on it with an English-speaking guide promises familiarity not only with monuments of the past, but also with ultra-modern skyscrapers (on the roof of one of them, Maintauer, is the best observation deck of the city). Regardless of the architecture of which period you prefer, the following are obligatory for sightseeing:
Pedestrian street Zeil leads to the guardhouse square, full of temptations for shopping lovers: be sure to ask the guide to show to you the largest shopping centers - Peek & Cloppenburg, Zeilgalerie, Galeria Kaufhof. Looking for low prices? Then it’s worth visiting the Hessen Center and Karstadt, and the Kleinmarkthalle, which deserves a separate excursion, they sell the best sausages and ham in all of Germany.
In between shopping, be sure to visit the Museum Embankment: there you are guaranteed to find a museum to your liking, fortunately, there are as many as 16 of them - from the museum of icons to the museum of cinematography. And in the warm season, Excurzilla strongly recommends you to take a water excursion along the Main River, which divides the city into two parts.
